Well.. to be honest, I've never really been gone from DA.
I was just too busy with school (really, why do all teachers wanted their assignments to be handed in at the SAME TIME?!) to really get to the artistry (is that even a word?).
-blabbers on about how school was, how weird the rules were and how dumb they were-
I didn't even know I was allowed to graduate 2 days before school wanted to know whether or not I would find the graduation company myself, or through school... >__>
Bleh.. not only that, but the only thing school did, was tell a company that I wanted to graduate there.. (graduation = internship for 5-6 months + documentation etc etc)

Aaaanyway~ I've started my experiment with the first chapter of one of the stories I'm still working on. Instead of submitting just the text, I've put the story on an authentic parchment background and rolled up the top and bottom a bit.
On that subject, I noticed that even in the category Typography (in which states that many different fonts can be used, as well as other media) it's not possible to submit a picture.. only text formats or PDF.. and because I don't really think PDF is the way to go for pure pictures, I had to choose something else..
If the results are positive (at least a couple dozen views or so, maybe favs/comments, I dunno) I'll continue to release more on "parchment" and hopefully can entertain more people this way :]

On another subject *points at last word of journal title*, I'm working on a selfmade cosplay. Some parts are selfmade, some are collected/ordered through sites, others are found in stores.
One item was particularly difficult to get.. namely the kitty-bell. You know, those little bells that have a highpitched ring the size of a small acorn? Well.. everyone had those. But I needed a bigger on, roughly the size of 4-5cm (1.5-2 inch)! I went to NINE different stores, starting at a pet-shop and going through 3 fabric stores and a second pet shop, 3 hobby-stores and ending at a fourth hobby store where I finally found the bell I was looking for.
The last 3 stores were an hour's walk through the city of Eindhoven, but the first half dozen were on a 3 hours bike-ride away from home... Through pouring rain and sunshine (yes, weird weather that day) I rode my bike through my whole home town T.T
I looked like a drowned cat that day when I got home. Everything was just soaked. (and at that point, still no bell).
I'll post some pics when I think it's done n_n

Oh yeah.. before I forget to note this, a couple weeks ago, my iPOD died =[
Repairs would cost a rough 200 Euros T_T
Alternative would be to buy a new one, but the store that I went to, only had nanos, shuffles and the latest classic. If I decided to go for a nano or a shuffle, I would need to cut my playlist in 10 pieces minimum because they're so tiny ._.
The only classic there was, was the 120GB (which is 6x bigger than what I had), and the 80GB was no longer available (something with no longer being made or so).
Eventually, I decided that, in order to NOT lose my mind without music, I was going to buy the 120GB classic. In BLACK! >:3
Boy, did I feel that in my bank balance >_<

Even though that defies the definition of spam.. p = pointless.. and this spam has a meaning.. I think.

Aaanyway~

Last sunday, me and my sis went to a Nightwish concert in Ahoy in Rotterdam (that's in the Netherlands for you folks).
We took the bus to the concert hall, only to find a waiting queue of like.. 300 meters long! (approx 2-3 hours or so). Crazy long line.. all at one entrance names "arena". There were three other entrances, two of which went to the upper rings of the hall, and one other was simply called "Entree".
So we checked our tickets at which entrance we outta wait at.. "Arena" it said. (yes the very long line one)
But we just walked straight at the "Entree" entrance, which had a queue line of uhm.. 20 seconds whaha.

Once inside, we skipped the 2 hour queue and headed for the cloakroom to leave our coats there. After that, we checked the goodies out and saw a nice towel. We did decide to leave it there, because we'd have to hoist the towel with us the entire concert.
"We'll buy em afterwards." we said.
So in we went for the best concert of the year. We walked around the edge towards the front, so after 2 minutes, we stood at the second front row, woot!
Two support acts by Indica and Pain passed by before the main group, and the ones we all came for, Nightwish! *yaay*

*skipping this part, cos you just HAD to be there to even know how undescribable this was*

So after playing two more songs because we all yelled "we want more", the lights went on again and it was time to head out and get our coats and goodies.
My sis went to get the coats while I would try to get two towels.
It was very very *bleeped* crowded!! People were clogging up the passage and more were trying to buy out the goodies stalls. I only managed to get one towel, but it was better than the person behind me, who wanted the same item. I got the last one, whaha!
On the way out, we bought two Ice Teas to lesten the thirst.

After a short while, we went back to the busstop to see where and at what time the bus to the train station would leave.
The last one would leave in 15 minutes, so afterwards we stood at the station, but there was no more train that would go directly towards home! The two options by train were to go via via via a 2 hour detour, or get as close as possible by train and get a cab.
We chose for the latter option, because by then, the time was 0:45 in the morning!
At 1:30 or so, we took a cab straight to home. Boy, that was an expensive trip, even for two people! 0ver 100 euros for 50 kilometers >.<
So in the end, at nearly 2 am, we were home.. like zombies.
The worst part was, that we both had an alarm going off at 7 in the morning for school and the doctor.. neither going off of course, we were sleeping haha!
Well.. worst part... not exactly true.. the cab-price was the worst.
I missed a day of school, which wasn't all that bad anyway, because the classes that I had weren't too hard that I couldn't skip one, and the doctor.. well.. I dunno how my sis had arranged that.

We got our concert, which was better than last year's, we met up with friends, old and new, I got my towel and we both got awesome photos (which you're not gonna see here) aaaand.. tomorrow's another boring day.

Some of you may know that I'm kind of a sword freak. I like swords more than any other weapon, except maybe the doom weapons some comics have..
But anyway, I'm also a very big anime fan, and in particular Bleach. I've been following Bleach since episode 60 (that's nearly 3 years).

So what does this have to do with the journal's title?

Seven months ago, I decided I'd hunt a sword from familiar sites.
When I find a site that sells swords, I have to first find out if they have the sword I want to have. Then I gotta find out if they ship to Europe for a reasonable price. After that I need to know if I can pay by Paypal or bank account, since credit cards and paychecks are not an option for me.

With these criteria I went to the sites I knew that sell swords.
This proved to be really hard, because I don't live in the USA. So a whole range of shops weren't going to help me. Shipping was either $400, even for a $5 stand...
Even a site I had visited months before I seriously went looking for a sword, suddenly decided not to ship outside the USA anymore.
Eventually, I had to google my way to unknown sites. Some of them had the sword, but didn't ship to Europe.

Until now, I had skipped the Amazone and Ebay sites. It was time to see the truth: I had to go to individual people, rather than wholesale.
First, I tried Amazone.
Lots of people wanted to sell their sword, including the one I was hunting for. Unfortunately, most of them were Americans, and by then, I knew what that meant.. "Will ship to: US only"... T_T
Some would ship to Canada too, but that wasn't going to help me at all.

Then I tried Ebay, but the same problems arised as with all other sites and people. US only shipment.

I let the hunt lay low for a while.

Two months ago, I tried again, and started with Ebay, but with a different approach.
I searched a bunch of people that wanted to sell the sword I wanted and mailed them if they could make an exeption for me and ship to Europe anyway.
Only one mailed back within a week. heck, he even mailed back in 20 minutes!
Okay, so I didn't just mail any person who had the sword for sale. They had to be reliable according to their ratings.
The person that mailed me back so fast had a very positive rating or 99.7% happy customers.
even though that's very good, I still read a whole lot of them, to get to know what kind of bad ratings he got. Most of them were minor things he had fixed later on.
To top it off, I even found an angry Italian... "ITALIAN! THAT'S EUROPE!" I thought. Proof that he shipped to Europe!

Frankly, I didn't care anymore that the others didn't respond to my mail.
I had found the one nice guy that would ship the item for a good price to my home!

Within 3 days, we had an agreement, the item was paid and as of November 24, the shipment had begun.
A week passed and it was now at the distribution center for international shipment.
Within 2 days, it had arrived at my country's Customs. After a very speedy 8 days (normally that would be 3 weeks), it had been approved and left Customs. Only to be delivered the next monday.
As of December 15, the sword lay waiting on my bed at my parents' house. I'm living on my own for while, so I had to wait until friday evening to get back home.
It's never been more exciting to be home again and see the monster in a box in my bed.

IT IS HUGE! And I'm standing at 1,94 meter! (that's around 6 foot 5 inch)
Yes, it's the 1,72 meter (68 inch), maximum ego, fully black, Tensa Zangetsu!
There's a 10 inch chain on the hilt and red handle with black wrapping. The guard had raised edges and is fully black, as is the blade. It's so awesome!

Today, we (family) were going to the dentist (yay ._.).
The plan was to travel by train with my mom and younger brother and go back with dad's car.
Mom had got the one-way-trip tickets for us and off we went.
When we arrived at the dentist's, we only had to wait a few minutes before it was our turn.
Only my younger brother had to make a comeback appointment for a hole... hehe.
Once back in the car, I asked my dad I wanted to go shopping for manga since we were in town anyway. I had my pinpas (sort of credit card, but directly linked to a bank account) so I would find my way back home anyway.
I stepped out near the station and walked towards the shop I wanted to visit.

When I arrived, I knew exactly what I was looking for, so I looked at the items on the shelf to find the ones I wanted.
Unfortunately, the 2nd and 3rd volumes of Zombie Powder and the 3rd volume of Fairy Tail weren't there. I asked Tom (I think that's his name...) where those could be. Moments later, I held them in my hands and wanted to checkout.

So I stood in the shop, with the items being scanned for price as I took out my card and said I would like to use it.
I walked to the device, waited for the cashier (Tom I think) to have activated it for use and I ran my pass' magnet strip through.
"Pass unsuited" it said o.O
After several more tries, it still said the same thing! I was getting worried by now.
Tom said the device was kinda sensitive, and that it happens often, so we went across the street to use their device. It didn't give any different result, even with some special liquid covering the magnet strip. That stuff was supposedly increasing it's condition... didn't work though. D:
So I tried going to a place where you can withdraw money from the wall (we call it ' pinnen ', and it's close to going to the bank and withdraw money).
There were 2 devices, and I tried each twice, but they just kept saying that my pass was unsuitable...
I was getting no results... whatever I tried. I went back to the shop and told Tom it didn't work, and that I would come back tomorrow with cash to pay the manga. he said it was okay, placed the books on a shelf behind him and I left.

Walking on the streets again (without my manga T_T) and thinking.. I didn't have a ticket back home for the train O_O"
When I arrived at the station again, I tried pinnen again, but it failed. I tried the automates for the tickets, but they didn't accept my card >_<
I tried the service desk, but even there the pass didn't work.. I declared it dead, RIP, pushing up the daisies etc etc..
Still without a ticket, I went to the platforms and waited. I would explain the situation to the conductor and hopefully get a free ride home (costs would be 1.70 Euro, or $2.55).
I talked to the driver, but he didn't know where the conductor was, so I walked through the train's 1st class areas, but to no avail.
When I got back to the driver, the conductor was arriving, so I explained the situation and lucky me! I was allowed to travel homeward without a ticket.

Right now, I'm browsing for an image to place on the new card I'm gonna order. I tried to go for 'bankai' in Kanji, but 'ban' looks too much like Hilter (yes, that's how I spell it) his sign... damn him!
So I decided to write this journal first and then search DA for suitable images

Weird day.. today... 'cause my pass was fine when I used it at Chibicon =/
After (I think) 3 years of loyal service, it's retired 2 years early (according to expiration date).
I felt so helpless... without money o.O
